Our engineers, designers and drafters work as one coordinated team across mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection — and every project carries principal-level oversight from Jack Khalifeh, P.E., a LEED-accredited mechanical engineer licensed in California, Nevada, Colorado, Washington and Arizona.
With a wide diversity in project experience, the firm is organised to provide services for health care, aviation, energy services, Title 24 reporting, commissioning, LEED, educational facilities, science and technology, as well as single-family, multi-family and mixed-use developments.

Jack founded Khalifeh & Associates in 1985 with a simple commitment: be directly involved in every project and deliver coordinated, reliable designs. Over 35 years later, that commitment has not changed.
He is a licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer in five states and a LEED Accredited Professional, with a career spanning industrial, institutional, commercial and residential engineering across Southern California and beyond. He was among the first MEPF engineers in the region to pursue LEED certification — not because it was trending, but because he believed buildings should perform better and last longer.
His design philosophy comes down to a few principles he has held from the start: simplicity, reliability and long-term performance. Systems should be invisible and high-performing. Every project is unique and deserves a unique solution. And quality engineering — the kind that results in fewer change orders, cleaner construction, and buildings that work quietly and well — is never an accident. It is the result of direct involvement, discipline and care.
Jack is not the kind of engineer who delegates and disappears. He is personally involved in every project the firm takes on, from scope review through construction administration. Clients work directly with the engineer who stamps the drawings, and that accessibility is something he considers non-negotiable. It is how he has built relationships with architectural practices that span two and three decades, and it is how he intends to continue.
He built the firm's reputation the old-fashioned way — through the work itself. For 40+ years, new clients have come primarily through referrals from architects, contractors and developers who experienced firsthand what it means to work with an engineer who treats every project as if his name is on it — because it is.
